Frequently Asked Questions

General

How does this process work?

If you are getting custom pieces made for an event, please CONTACT US first so we can check availability for your event date. Once your date is confirmed, return to our website, add your products to the cart, and complete your purchase as soon as you are able.

You will have access to your artist throughout the entire preservation process. Please feel free to email any questions or concerns you may have at any time. You have the option to add more products to your order after checkout should you change your mind up until resin is being poured. Just email us at stillmeadowsboutique@gmail.com

Once your event date has arrived, you will drop off or ship your flowers on the next business day according to our instructions. Once we receive your flowers we will immediately begin the preservation process with your design preferences in mind. When your order is completed, we will ship your completed order to it's forever home!

The whole process can take about 6-18 weeks depending on the size of the order and the availability of the artist.

Will the resin last over time?

Yes your resin products will last. The only thing I recommend is to keep the resin out of constant direct sunlight and do not store them in a place with extreme heat. Heat and constant sunlight will cause the resin to yellow over time.

Do my flowers need to be dried before I send them to you?

No! I professionally dry your flowers for you in silica gel to hold their shape and color. I do this for you so there is no need to do it yourself unless there is a problem getting them to me fresh! If the client chooses to dry the flowers themselves, Still Meadows Boutique is not responsible for improper drying. This can include browning, wilting, burning, molding, etc.

Should I send all of my flowers or just one large bouquet?

It depends on how many pieces you order! If you are ordering many pieces I would recommend sending multiple flower arrangements and bouquets. If you are ordering one large piece, then one large bouquet will be sufficient. Let me know if you have more questions about this and I will be happy to give you personal recommendations based off of your order and flower size.

Will my flowers look the exact same?

Most of the time your flowers will look very similar to how they looked when they were alive! However some flowers dry a different color. For example red flowers dry much darker than their original color. White flowers dry more of a cream color. Lilies and orchids dry paper thin.

Your event flowers may have "bruising" that will not show until resin touches the dried flowers, and may appear as translucent spots. There is no way to “fix” these spots but they can be prevented by handling your flowers carefully before shipping/delivery.

Additionally, we can only preserve your flowers in the condition in which we receive them. If you are planning to ship your flowers, we will send you packing and shipping instructions so you can ensure the best results.

Can any flower fit in any size piece?

No! Some flowers are too large for certain pieces. For example, a full size rose will NOT fit in a ring holder. However, smaller (spray) roses often fit in a ring holder! If you order coasters, ornaments, or candles, I will need to use small/flat flowers. Please reach out if you have any questions about flower sizing!

Special Requests

Do you accept previously dried flowers?

Absolutely! We love working with dried flowers! If you have air-dried your flowers, they will look different than the silica dried flowers that are in the majority of our art pieces- but all flowers are beautiful! As long as you like the way that your flowers currently look, I can work with them. However, I will not work with flowers that were dried in a freezer. They will mold in the resin.

Can you include special items in my piece(s)?

Absolutely! If you have a necklace, ribbon, pin, photo, program etc. from your event or from your loved one’s treasure that you would like me to include in your piece(s) please let me know! Most of these items are easy to include. Some items I will need to research to make sure the resin won’t react with them, but this is something we can talk through together.

What if I don't have my flowers anymore?

If you do not have the flowers from your event anymore but would like a preservation piece made, I can recreate your bouquet! You will just need to cover the price of the flowers and send me photos of your the flowers that were at your passed event. Some flowers may be difficult to replace due to the season, but I will do my best.

What if my flowers are artificial?

I can use artificial flowers! We can even do a mix of some artificial and some real flowers if you prefer. Please let me know ahead of time if your bouquet is artificial.

Can I have any extra flowers back after my order has been created?

Of course! Please include a note with your flowers before they are shipped/delivered or email me ahead of time to let me know you would like the extra flowers. That way I can include your note in your flower drying box.

Shipping + Returns

Can I ship my flowers if I live outside of Virgina?

Yes! Keep in mind that you will need to get your flowers in the mail within 24 hours of your event (However, if your event is on a Saturday, you’ll want to keep the flowers in water and get them in the mail first thing Monday morning). They will need to be shipped via overnight shipping so that I can dry them before they start wilting/browning. I understand that this shipping is not cheap, but you will not regret the investment of having your flowers preserved. I do not cover the price of shipping.

What if my flowers are damaged in shipping?

Still Meadows Boutique is not responsible for any damages caused during shipping from the customer to the artist’s studio. If flowers are damaged during the shipping process the responsibility falls on the shipping company. I always suggest purchasing shipping insurance. If your flowers are damaged in shipping, I can work with you to replace your flowers at an additional cost to you. We can figure this out together!

Do you accept returns?

Due to the unique nature of our products and the high cost of materials, all shop sales are final.
